Jon Affatato is the Director of Acquisition Direct Mail at American Express, within their newly formed Global Marketing Operations team, and has been at American Express for 19 years. Aside from direct mail, Jon also oversees Vendor Management, and has recently lead teams in charge of email execution and creative governance, with teams in both the United States and India.
Jon’s career has included roles in the retail and catalog space at an international jewelry wholesaler, and on Madison Avenue at McCann-Erickson. During his time at Amex, he led Loyalty and Acquisition mail, launching the uber-premium Membership Rewards catalogs in the early 2000’s. Other notable accomplishments include bridging the gap between the print and digital spaces through QR codes and augmented reality, extensive re-engineering work in the field of address hygiene and postal efficiencies, co-launching Amex’s in-house creative studio and internal vendor management office and implementing robotics and automation solutions to create more efficient processes.
Jon graduated from Stony Brook University with a BA in Sociology and a minor in music. He is married with two kids. He enjoys yoga, exercising and is the Musical Director of a Long Island youth orchestra.
