Beth Smith


Beth Smith is an award-winning 35-year veteran of direct marketing with extensive experience designing and managing direct marketing programs for business, consumer and nonprofit marketers around the world.

As CEO of Smith Browning Direct and for the past 20 years, she has advised clients on direct marketing strategy, customer loyalty and data-driven marketing programs.

Over 11,000 professionals have attended Beth’s seminars and workshops in Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia and South Africa as well as in the U.S. She is also the creator and Educational Director for the DMA most popular course – the Direct Marketing Institute.

Beth is a recipient of the prestigious Edward N. Mayer Award for Lifetime Contribution to the Advancement Of Direct Marketing Education. She is a past member of both DMEF/Marketing Edge Board of Trustees and the DMA Board of Directors and served on both organizations’ Executive Committees.

Beth was previously Vice President of Marketing at Epsilon. She held several positions over her 15 years at Epsilon including Creative Director and VP of Account Management. She led teams who won international awards for their marketing campaign effectiveness.

Her clients have included Adobe Systems, American Express, Cisco, Google, Investec, Nationwide, Nutrisystem, RCI/Wyndham Worldwide, Xerox, Children’s International, the San Diego Zoo, and many others.
