Waze has 27 million drivers using the service each month in the US (100M global) allowing them to “outsmart” traffic and save time during each drive. To capitalize on this influx of consumer-generated data Waze has created a program called the “Connected Citizens Program” (CCP) which is a two-way data exchange between Waze and municipalities. The partnerships updates road conditions in real-time to reduce traffic. From a brand engagement perspective, Waze offers brands a unique opportunity to engage with drivers/consumers on the go. Similar to digital out of home, Waze targets consumers at the right place, time and in the right context.
